Del Valle ISD District-Wide Campus Renovations
Del Valle ISD (DVISD) is at the heart of a growing community, holding the responsibility of providing a safe and supportive learning environment to all students, faculty, and staff. To continually meet the needs of the community, DVISD passed a bond in 2014 that included extensive renovations and additions throughout the district, giving Fuse the opportunity to work on 10 campuses, providing design services for the recommended improvements.
A unique challenge to this renovation was establishing project scope from assessment reports and comparing them to existing conditions and campus needs. Coordinating the design development, documentation, and separating bid/permit packages was critical for project success. During construction, exploring all the different available finishes and selecting unique options for each campus was a significant coordination effort. In order to ensure that the individual campuses were getting the look and feel that they were expecting, Fuse created binders for each campus scope, detailing the specifics for flooring, wall and floor tiles, ceiling tile, partitions, and paint schemes, that included photos of the selected materials, including the manufacturer’s material number. These binders were given to the general contractor to assist them with keeping track of specific finishes for each campus.
