City of Temple Facilities Condition Assessment

The City of Temple wanted to assess their existing 50+ properties to review the current conditions of the buildings and receive recommendations for maintenance and improvements. Included on the assessment team was Fuse (interior conditions and general Texas Accessibility compliance), Terracon (envelope) and ACR (MEP equipment and systems).

Nineteen of their facilities were evaluated including: Historic Post Office, Gober Party House, Old Parks Maintenance Building, Santa Fe Depot, 8 Fire Stations, Patsy Luna Building, Jeff Hamilton Building, Wilson Recreation Center, Sammons Community Center, Sammons Indoor Pool, City Hall and Summit Fitness Center.

Design & Construction Facts

The buildings range in age from the Historic Post Office (1917) to the newest building Fire Station #7 (1997) and in size from the Patsy Luna Building (~3,000 sf) to the City Hall (~40,000sf). Detailed reports included general building, site elements and noted concerns with a ranking of poor, fair, good and excellent. The city was able to prioritize the items and were provided cost estimates for the higher priority items.
